This is a book that I loved from the start.
It is about a boy named Kip who is living in Alaska with his parents. Kip's mother is dying. Kip is angry. One day, there is an accident and Kip is responsible for his friends death after Kip lights him on fire. Kip is sent to a juvenile detention center. Afrter his mother's death, Kip feels abandonded. His father never gives up on Kip.It is here that Kip finally realizes his father loves him. They have to keep moving every time people find out about the accident. Will Kip ever lead a normal life? How can a relationship with a girl that teaches him how to sail, teach him a life lesson.
